2. Walking the horseLEVEL 1: In this course you learn to create calmness, use the equipment, find the leading position, and to install the basic aids. You also practice walking with the horse while being in the same rhythm and position with the horse’s center of mass. Minimum no. of lessons: 3

3. Preparation for schoolingLEVEL 1: In this course you learn to teach the horse to follow your body language in standing, and install basic aids for shouder in, shoulder out, inside hindleg and outside hindleg. Minimum no. of lessons: 2
LEVEL 2: Now you learn to teach the horse to follow your body language in walk - on straight lines, serpentines, and shifting the lead. You also work with combinations of the aids. Minimum no. of lessons: 2 |
4. Integrated groundwork knowledgeThis course you work without horse, learning everything you need to be able to guide the horse in the coming courses around the riding arena.
LEVEL 1: Body awareness on the circle (both walking forward and backwords, since we do both in the coming courses with the horse). Minimum no. of lessons: 2 LEVEL 2: The same as above on the square (the carré), straight lines and the whole riding arena. Minimum no. of lessons: 2 |
5. GroundworkThe backwards position of groundwork gives us a good possibility to see and influence the horses energy line. In this position we work with the aids and schools that we later do on top of the horse, teaching the horse to carry itself in balance.
LEVEL 1: Equipments, positions, following and influencing on circle and straight lines. Minimum no. of lessons: 2 LEVEL 2: Learning the groundwork pattern of the Knighthood of the Academic art of Riding and schooling in halt. Minimum no. of lessons: 4 |
6. LungingIn lunging we can reach further balance in the horse, also in different gaits.
You learn to see and communicate with your horse from the lunge position. Being able to lunge is also necessary to do the Seat Programs, which require a lunger. LEVEL 1: Equipment, position, sending out the horse, installing lunging aids, shifting the leads, staying in contact, stop and start, higher gaits. Minimum no. of lessons: 2 LEVEL 2: Sholder in, quarter in, collection. Minimum no. of lessons: 2 |
7. HandworkThis course is not necessary to move on to riding.
In handwork you walk beside the horse, using and installing the rein aids (indirect and direct rein). You learn the position, schools, trot, schooling in halt, collection, walking both on the inside and outside, and working the groundwork pattern. Minimum no. of lessons: 5 |
8. Long rein This course is not necessary to move on to riding.
Long rein can be a good addition to riding, or sometimes a better alternative to riding. You practice the secondary aids, while seeing the horse from a position that is similar to riding. In this course you learn the position, schools, stop and start, trot, and working the groundwork pattern. Minimum no. of lessons: 5 |
