GROUNDED SEAT – WITH YOUR HORSE
GROUNDED SEAT – WITH YOUR HORSE 🐴🌿
A 6-Week Continuation Course
Course start: October 27, 2026
Live online meetings with Hanna: Tuesdays at 18:30 CET
Final meeting: December 1, 2026
You have explored your body on Steady Freddy.
Now it is time to invite your horse into the conversation.
Grounded Seat – With Your Horse is the continuation of the Grounded Seat Foundation Course. During these six weeks, we take the body awareness, balance and understanding you have developed on Steady Freddy and explore what happens when the horse begins to move underneath you.
The focus is still you and your body.
We are not looking for impressive movements or asking the horse to perform. Instead, we create a calm and safe situation where your horse can move softly and comfortably forward – giving you the space to listen, feel and explore your own seat.
COURSE DATES
We meet online every Tuesday at 18:30 CET:
October 27 – Course start
November 3
November 10
November 17
November 24
December 1 – Final meeting
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
Our weekly Tuesday meetings are online and without your horse.
This is our time to learn, reflect, ask questions and look together at what you have discovered during the week.
Between our meetings, you practise the weekly course material independently with your horse, ideally around three times each week.
You will also submit short video clips from your practice sessions.
These clips become an important part of our learning process. They give us something real to look at together and form the basis for personal feedback, observations and practical tips during our weekly meetings.
You don't need to produce a perfect video or show a perfect exercise.
The video is simply a little window into your exploration – a way for us to see what is happening and help you discover your next step.
OUR PRIVATE FACEBOOK WORKING GROUP
When you join the course, you will be invited to a private Facebook working group.
This will be our shared classroom during the six weeks.
Here you will find:
- The weekly course material and exercises
- Links to our online meetings
- Information and updates
- A place to submit your short practice videos
- Feedback and inspiration throughout the course
- A space to share questions and discoveries with the group
YOUR HORSE
You need a horse that you feel safe and comfortable with.
Your horse should be able to walk calmly and comfortably on a large circle of approximately 16–20 metres in diameter, in both directions.
A younger horse can also participate.
If your young horse is comfortable being quietly lunged, you can work together with a trusted helper, allowing you to concentrate on your own body while your helper takes responsibility for guiding the horse.
The important thing is that the situation feels safe enough for you to give your attention to your seat rather than controlling the horse.
EQUIPMENT
You can use a cavesson, stable halter and/or bitless bridle.
If your horse feels most comfortable with a bit, that is absolutely fine too.
The equipment is not our main focus.
Our focus is your body and your seat while the horse moves calmly and relaxed underneath you.
TIME TO EXPLORE
You need access to a quiet and safe place where you and your horse can practise without unnecessary distractions.
Please plan to explore the weekly material with your horse approximately three times per week.
The sessions do not need to be long.
This course is not about doing more.
It is about giving yourself enough repetition to notice, feel and understand.
Explore. Feel. Notice. Repeat.
And then bring your questions, discoveries and little video clips back to our Tuesday meeting.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Grounded Seat – With Your Horse is a continuation course, so you should previously have completed the Grounded Seat Foundation Course.
If you took Grounded Seat some time ago, you are warmly invited to repeat the Foundation Course before we begin on October 27. It is a wonderful way to refresh your body awareness and revisit the exercises before taking them onto the moving horse.
🌿 First, we explore ourselves.
🐴 Then we invite the horse into the conversation.
Not to perform.
Not to be perfect.
But to become more aware, more available and more able to listen – to your own body and to the horse moving underneath you.
A warm welcome to Grounded Seat – With Your Horse. 💛
