🎉 Saddle Party: A Fun Way to Explore Your Seat
I recently invited a few friends to a saddle party, where we put on some music and went on a journey of discovery. What truly feels comfortable? Has my seat changed since I last made adjustments? 👉 If you haven’t completed the Home Seat program yet, I highly recommend starting there first. This course builds on that foundation, making it the perfect second step. If you need access to Home Seat, reach out to Hanna for guidance! 🔎 Ready to Experiment? Try This: 1️⃣ Start with awareness: Get on your saddle with a curious mindset. Observe how it feels—without judgment, just exploration. 2️⃣ Rock gently back and forth: Notice if your pelvis shifts, loses contact, or feels unstable. If you sense a gap or restriction in your hips, or if you experience discomfort—like tension in your lower back or upper body—your pelvic angle might need a small adjustment. Check out the short video below for more insights! 3️⃣ Create your own seat pads: Grab some material from home—an old yoga mat works great! Trace your saddle seat and cut out one to three layers to test. 4️⃣ Experiment with front seat comfort: Try adding a little padding around your pubic bone, just like I did in the video. My thigh muscles had changed, and a small adjustment made a huge difference in comfort and support! 5️⃣ Adjust for back seat support: Test with and without extra lift under your seat bones. Make sure your saddle stays balanced as you explore different positions. 🚀 No Limits, Just DiscoveryWe’re all unique, so be bold in your experiments! The best part? These adjustments are free and don’t require a new saddle—just a bit of time to understand what your body needs right now. Enjoy the process and happy experimenting! |

I used an old yoga mat and first cut out a saddle seat (similar to the one I already have on my saddle), then added padding in the areas that I felt gave me the best comfort. In the pictures below, you can see my pieces. The reason I preferred a firmer material like this old yoga mat is because it provides stability, rather than just being a soft seat like fur or gel. I believe you’ll find what works best for you.
At first, you can even use a folded towel just to see what effect a little lift under your seat can have. I used double-sided tape to secure the pieces in place so they don’t shift when I later try them out on horseback.
