This course is designed to transform your riding experience by focusing on key areas of rider-horse communication. Together, we will approach our training with kindness and gratitude, resetting our riding into a new phase that aligns with your current journey as a rider.
Here’s what you’ll explore each week:
Week 1: Mind and Feel
  • Objective: Master the art of gentle, clear communication through your body to benefit your horse. Come back to your emotional core, which has brought you this far, and develop a deeper awareness of your mental and emotional state while riding.
  • Content:
    • Understanding the connection between mind and body
    • Techniques for staying present and focused
    • Exercises to enhance your emotional connection with yourself, while riding.
  • Outcome: Achieve a calm, centered mindset that positively influences your riding.
Week 2: Balance
  • Objective: Enhance your overall balance and stability in the saddle. Release old tensions and discover a new posture that suits your current situation.
  • Content:
    • Five Simple In-Saddle Exercises: Practice these exercises on horseback without causing any harm to your horse, bringing you into full awareness of your body and mind.
    • Utilizing "Steady Freddy": Use this tool to spare the horse and help you quickly find your Home Seat.
    • Releasing Old Tensions: Learn to release old tensions and adopt a posture that suits your current situation.
    • Developing Self-Awareness: Gain deeper insights into yourself and how you handle challenges, transforming your approach with kindness and gratitude.
  • Outcome: Understanding your personal "Home Seat" where you find both function and comfort.
Week 3: Pelvis
  • Objective: Master the use of your pelvis for better communication and movement.
  • Content:
    • Understanding the role of the pelvis in riding
    • Exercises to increase pelvis mobility and position
    • Techniques for using your pelvis to influence your horse’s movements - without creating new tensions.
  • Outcome: Develop a more effective and nuanced use of your pelvis, enhancing your ability to guide your horse.
Week 4: Legs
  • Objective: Utilize your legs effectively for cues and support.
  • Content:
    • Proper leg positioning and its impact on riding
    • Exercises to soften and refine leg aids
    • Techniques for using leg aids to communicate with your horse
  • Outcome: Achieve clearer and more soft communication through precise leg aids.
Week 5: Hands
  • Objective: Develop soft, responsive hands that feels the horse, and gives a calm structure.
  • Content:
    • Understanding the importance of hand position and movement
    • Exercises to improve hand sensitivity and responsiveness
    • Techniques for using reins to guide and communicate with your horse, treating them as a delicate instrument.
  • Outcome: Enhance your ability to communicate with your horse through subtle and precise hand movements, whether you are using two, three, or four reins, with two hands or one.
Week 6: Upper Body
  • Objective:  Align your upper body for improved riding posture and confort.
    Content:
  • Understanding the Role of the Upper Body: How does my upper body contribute to the seat? What aids does the upper body manage?
  • Awareness and Education: Become aware and educated on how your upper body is an integral part of your toolbox, leading to a steadier and more comfortable pelvis.
  • Outcome: Develop an aware, balanced upper body that supports effective riding and communication, resulting in a naturally steadier and more comfortable pelvis.
